Poor indoor air quality can adversely impact patient's and staff's health, comfort and productivity. When they are inappropriately designed, installed or maintained, HVAC systems may contribute excessive energy consumption or longer hospital stays and complications for patients.
The 2010 edition of the CSA Z317.2 standard includes: new requirements for infection prevention and control, energy efficiency, sustainability, reliability and emergency preparedness ; addition of energy conservation targets; detailed design requirement; information on the commissioning team, plan and process.
This one day workshop examines the requirements of Z317.2-10, the unique aspects of design, construction and maintenance of HVAC systems in health care facilities and will help attendees ensure that they can provide that safe nvironment while maximizing their energy budgets.
